After getting back from Heineken – think I may have caught the sailing bug!! I’ve spent several weeks buzzing and bouncing round like a kid, also realised that I wanted to get more sailing under my belt (helped of course that Tigress were trying me to persuade me to do more races in the Caribbean 😉
I originally agreed with work that my 4 weeks of Clipper training would be taken as holiday – looking at my sailing calendar with Clipper training and the various events I was doing with DJ, I spotted only had a few days of holiday available. Hmmmm…. Not cool!!
I also now don’t want to do just one leg – if I’m gonna do it, I need to do it & not regret doing more (and yes, signing up to do a whole circumnavigation has been bouncing around my head!!) My original plan was always to do two legs – just didn’t think I could afford it, nor that I’d be able to take the time off…
A plan formed (after a rather good year end) – switch clipper training this year to unpaid, freeing up holiday, meaning that I could head back to the Caribbean… AND add leg 7… just the small matter of time off…. 😉
Next step… another email to the boss… putting forward the rather loony request…
A few days later, Gavin got back to me asking me to not squeal too loudly and letting me know that somehow the loony request had been approved… WTF!! If Carlsberg did bosses…
So – that’s that. I’m now doing leg 7 AND 8 (Seattle to NY, NY to Liverpool) AND have signed up to do Antigua Sailing week at the end of April… #teamtigress & #DJontour
